Helena Emily Wade is a Sydney and New England-based artist whose practice bridges traditional painting techniques and contemporary expression. Her work encompasses portraiture alongside urban, suburban, and rural landscapes, exploring both the intimate and the expansive.

Her paintings have been recognised in numerous awards, including the Salon des Refusés at the Royal Queensland Art Society, Petrie Terrace Gallery (Not the Same Sky, 2025), the Lloyd Rees Emerging Artist Award at Gallery Lane Cove (Suspended in Transit, 2025), and the NAS Artist’s Book Annual Award, BFA1 Print Award, City 1000 (2025). She has also completed a number of private commissions, reflecting her versatility and the confidence collectors place in her work.

Alongside painting, Helena is a published writer, with the children’s book Ollie’s Big Mistake and the forthcoming novel Never Make a Meal of Murder.

Her practice continues to evolve, marked by a commitment to craftsmanship, experimentation, and the creation of works that resonate with both collectors and the wider public.
